We began this afternoon after lunch with a trip to the market to buy white cotton cloth.
This was then cut to the approximate dimensions of the wood frame and four pieces of bamboo sewn into the edges of the cloth.
A double-twined string was then threaded between the cloth and bamboo, wrapped around the outer wooden frame and tightened to stretch the canvas.
Tomorrow, weather permitting, we'll be treating the canvas.
I hope to complete this by the end of the school year in late March. In between we've got about 7-10 days off for Losar, Tibetan New Year, and Mutsumi and I will be spending 10 days in Bangkok for a friend's wedding. Let's see how much I can get done.
